Planning an Engagement Party and Need Advice?

I know we are going to rent a hall because we have at least 50-75 people on our guest list.

And I was thinking of doing a ';Cocktail'; theme and serve appetizers.

But do you have any advice AT all??

Like what types of finger foods, what kind of music (live band or DJ), what kinds of drinks to serve, decorating, etc.

I need all the advice I can get!

Thanks :-DPlanning an Engagement Party and Need Advice?
well if you are renting a hall they should have a bar so your drink choices are only limited by what they stock at the bar

if you have to bring your own - stick to beer, wine, soda and juice. if you get in to buying liquor it gets very costly and if you run out who's sober enough to buy more

get a dj to entertain everyone it's so simple and they play anything anyone wants to hear

for food i say

stuffed mushroom caps

meatballs

crab dip

artichoke dip

veggie trays

fruit trays

cheese pepperoni and crackers

7 - layer dip with chips

popcorn chicken bites

shrimp wrapped in bacon with horseradish and bbq sauce

corn bites

teryiaki chicken bites

burschetta

Pork Filled Potstickers

Beef Wellington

Assorted Cold Canapes

Crab Rangoon

Mini Chesapeake Crabcakes

Puff Pastry Wrapped Cocktail Franks

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Assorted Mini Quiches

Rumaki (Bacon Wrapped Chicken Liver)

Bacon Wrapped Scallops

Spanikopita (Spinach %26amp; Cheese Filo)

Cocktail Meatballs

Proscutti Wrapped Melon

Chipolte Beef KabobsPlanning an Engagement Party and Need Advice?
try cucumber sandwiches cut into tiny little triangles they are something you always see at a really elegant party in a movie

if you want o make everything really elegant i would get i live band but like a string quartet or something because if you have a rock band or something it just throw your whole theme out the window

cocktails or at least have all your drinks in cocktail glasses
