My goodness. I woke up this morning, hit the bathroom washed my face... and then noticed that the rock of my engagement ring was GONE! Completely wiped off like it was never even there! I didn't even know that could happen! Anyway, frantically I started searching for the rock but I can't find it anywhere. I think it may have gotten washed down the drain. My question is twofold. Do I just replace the rock or ring myself and never mention it to Mr. Man and hope he doesn't notice the difference? (which is very likely). Or should I tell him so we can guavel in mysery together for a while before he caves and decides to get me a new, bigger and more sturdy one.
Also, I'm usually not superstitious or anything, but when your rock falls off your ring ... is that a bad omen or what...???Engagement ring advice/help?
No it is not a bad omen for your marriage, it is poor quality workmanship on the part of the jewelry store, hopefully your boyfriend can take this ring back and demand a replacement of better quality..
Do not start your relationship off with secrets, tell your boyfriend, let him know how you feel, and both of you together can work this out as a couple.
Hang in there I can understand you stress and anxiety in wondering but loosing the rock has no value on the relationship or the marriage and how it is going too work out.. but Honesty does play a Hugh part in a marriage.. So please be truthful to your boyfriend do not ever keep secrets from him.. Because this will damage your marriage.
Best of Luck and congrats on the marriage....Engagement ring advice/help?
It's like breaking a mirror, seven years bad luck unless your future husband buys you a new one however it must be one carat larger!
The rock fell off mine too.. and they put a new one back on for free. Then it fell off again, and I threw the ring in my front yard (like 3 years ago), and haven't bothered looking for it since. He should buy you a high quality one rather than a cheap one. I'm married and don't wear a ring because I want a nice one now, instead of some cheap thing that tears up after a month.
You need to go straight to your man and turn on the tears. Time it out before you ';gather yourself together'; and then wail to him that the stone is lost.
Honest y is what a real relationship consists of. Tell him the truth he might end up buying you a bigger rock. I bought my wifes ring online at skyfacet.com they were much cheaper than the stores around LA.
it may be your jewlers fault but tell your man
If you truly have a rock, then you (or your man) have it insured. A call needs to be made to the insurance agent.
Well, if your rock was real and expensive, hope to god your fiance was smart enough to get a full coverage lifetime warranty. All you need to do is take your warranty to the jeweler and they will replace the setting and diamond. That should not happen easily, knocking the diamond out that is. Just tell him, it shouldn't be a huge deal, it happens. Good luck.
This could be a perfect time to see what he's made of.
