Advice on soldering wedding rings/engagement rings together?

Ok, I have a few questions regarding my rings. My fiance bought me two enhancers to go with my engagement ring after the wedding, one for each side of the ring. One is technically the ';wedding band'; and the other is just a wedding ';gift'; but because they are curved bands, it looks better to have both. When I tried them on, they seem to move around a bit and don't match up all the time with where the curved part should sit. Is it unusual to have the three soldered together and what are the pros and cons? I would never wear the band by itself because it's a curved band and would look strange. The rings came from Kay's...has anyone had any experience from there with soldering rings together--did they do a good job, and how long did it take? I hate the idea of being without my ring for two weeks leading up to the wedding. I had considered taking it to another jeweler to get it done same-day; would this ruin my warranty at Kay's? Any advice or comments on this topic would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks.Advice on soldering wedding rings/engagement rings together?
Kay is probably going to do a good job, and probably going to void your warranty if anyone else works on the rings. I can't promise that though.

I had mine soldered together because of the curvy thing that was moving around and making me crazy. I hated being without it, but am glad I did because it's all one piece and I love it.Advice on soldering wedding rings/engagement rings together?
My ring is similar having two bands on each side of the engagement ring. I had mine soldered together and it looks great. They dont move around anymore and you cant tell there solder unless you look. Igot mine done at samules. I recomend going back to kays since that is where you bought the rings, that way you dont loose your warranty.
I have never had rings soldered together, but i would go with someone like Kay's jewelers to have it done, any jeweler with a good reputation would be best. And don't worry about how long it would take to do it, you will have the rest of your life to wear them.
I am getting mine done! He got my ring from Samuel's Jewelers so we will get the bands there. And once they are together then both rings will be under my original insurance so I won't have to buy additional insurace for the wedding band.
I think that you should wait until after you're married to decide. Wear all three rings for at least two weeks before you decide. I'm not sure if the rings can be unsoldered once they are done and if they can I don't know what they would look like.

I would make sure this is something that you want to do. I'm in the same boat. I have my engagement ring and I'll get my matching band when we get married. I want to get another band as well and possibly get them soldered together. I haven't decided yet.

If you do it, I would get it done at Kay's for the sake of your warranty.
My mom's rings have been soldered together for 40 years and she's never had a problem. You'll have to read your documentation from Kay but usually the warranty is actually on the diamonds not the band itself so I think you'd be ok taking it somewhere else but I'd call them and ask just to make sure.

I didn't solder my rings and I am constantly fidgeting with them to keep them lined up. I do anticipate wearing the band by itself when I travel so that's why I kept the rings separate. I sometimes take trips to very poor parts of the world and I plan to leave the big engagement ring home.
it really doesn't take a lot for a jeweler to solder rings together. it's a fairly quick process and they will add a bit of gold, white gold or platinum to the bottom of your rings. there's nothing ring with having your rings soldered together either, it all depends on what you just explained or personal preferences. myself i decided to not have my rings soldered just because i wanted 2 separate rings. it doesn't hurt the rings in anyway if you want them soldered and then later on changed your mind and have them unsoldered. also having your rings solder should not take 2 weeks. i worked at a jewelry store them is very much the same as kays and it only took 3 days and thats because we only had the jeweler come in to pick up and drop off 3 days in the week. yes taking it to another jeweler will void your warranty from kay's only because the rings were touched by another jeweler and not by kay's. reason being is that every jeweler does their work differently and if you were to take it to another jeweler let's say jeweler B other then kay's, jeweler B could of messed up your ring and kay's would not want to touch a ring that was already messed up by another jeweler therefore voiding your warranty on your rings. so i would just take it to kay's and explain to them that you need your rings back right away because your taking picture with your rings on and they would have a rush on your rings and you'll get it back in no time.
