I recently had an engagement that didn't work out. I now have an engagement ring that I bought her (approx $ 4200 retail value) as well as the wedding band I bought for myself(approx $1200 retail value). I have no use for these now and would like to get as much money as possible for them. Any suggestions on how to do so? I bought them at GM Pollack so I thought maybe they would buy them back, but I'm not sure what their policy is on that type of transaction. I also thought about going to a private jeweler and having the rings appraised in hopes that they may offer a little more. A friend suggested ebay but I've never used ebay before and am a little skeptical of trusting anyone on there. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Engagement Ring Re-sale Advice?
how long has it been.. many stores have a policy for taking returns on engagement rings even if its beyond the refund time limit. thats where i would start first. ok if they wont take it back you have a few options, you can sell it to a jeweler to sell it or sell it yourself. it sounds like a nice ring, and if i were you i would find the nearest jeweler who would take it on a consignment basis, you will get more money. if you sell it outright to a jeweler dont expect to get more than 1/2 of what you paid, and thats being generous. you can always sell it on ebay, but i have seen rings sit there, they dont sell as well. do you have the specs of the ring? like a cert card. thats always helpful, it save you from getting dooped and it sells the ring better. email me if you have any other questions.Engagement Ring Re-sale Advice?
Ebay or alternatively take them to a jewellers, if they are good quality you could get a lot for them.
