Engagement announcement advice?

My fiance and I are having our engagement pics taken this week and putting an announcement in the paper. We are having a problem though. My parents are still together, however, his mother is deceased and his father has remarried. We do not want to exclude the step-mother, but don't want it worded to where it comes across as her being his mother. Need suggestions on wording for him. I have looked on websites but they all have samples for deceased parents but not w/the other parent remarried too. Please help! Thanks in advance!!Engagement announcement advice?
you could announce them as Mr. Doe and his wife, Mrs. Doe.

John Doe and his wife Mrs. Doe are pleased to announce the engagement of their son John Doe Jr. to Jane Plain, Daugter of George and Alice Plain.Engagement announcement advice?
I've seen this one a few times in our local paper:

Mr. and Mrs. Bridesparents are pleased to announce the upcoming wedding of their daughter, NewBride, to NewGroom. NewGroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Groomsparents and the late Mrs. GroomsMom.
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith announce the marriage of their daughter, Sarah Smith, to John Doe, the son of Mr. John Doe and his wife Mrs. Jane Doe, and the late Mrs. Judy Doe.
You would list your parents as usual. For his, you would say

Joe Smith, son of the late Mary Smith and Fred Smith - don't include your stepmother's name.
the son of mr.(his fathers first name only) the late mrs ( his mothers first and last name ) and mrs (his step moms name)

or

the son of mr and mrs ( his dad and step mom) and the late ( his mom).
How will his father feel about the step-mom being excluded?

Try something like-- The ';Jones'; family and the ';Smith'; family would love to proudly announce the engagement of their children, Jane Jones and John Smith.
I like:

Bobby Bob, the son of Mr.%26amp;Mrs.Robert Bob and the late Mrs. Rebecca Bob, and Sally Sue, daughter of Mr.%26amp;Mrs. Stanley Sue....

People will understand it. I see it all the time.
You could do son of Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith and then and back slash and honor of Mrs. (first name) Smith. This way she does not get left out nor un honored. Also I know a lot of places you can register and add a contribution to a certain charity. This might be a nice touch. Just a thought. Congrats/good luck!
Mr and Mrs Brides Family and Mr and Mrs Grooms Family and the Late Mrs Grooms Mother announce the engagement of Bridezilla and Groom.
You just name them as who they are. Mr %26amp; Mrs. ???, Brians father, and Helen his mother.

You can seperate them in their correct order and status.
